SPIRITUAL BEINGS
We are spiritual beings, functioning in a physical world through a human being using it's brain and five physical senses combined with its human gathered information assisted by the power of its physical imagination, looking for God who is a spiritual being in the spirit world. Do you really 'think' you can use a physical apparatus to commune with spirit?
Did you know that you have 5 spiritual senses, like the 5 physical senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste? Spiritual sight & hearing are well documented throughout the entire Bible: and we are told in 2Corinthians 4:18, "fix your eyes, not on what is seen, but what is unseen" . . . to put your attention on the unseen spirit worlds, which can only be experienced through the spiritual senses (like in the dream state) - you cannot experience the spirit worlds through your physical senses.
The reason why we cannot see into the spirit worlds, like we could as a little child, is that our up-bringing has actually shutdown our spirit senses by providing a physical existence that is so much like the spirit world (a familiar) that we identify our self as this human being - which has come about through physical life experiences (stored information) and its 'designed' physical imagination (limited or specially developed), the human brain maintains this human being ( "...insert YOUR NAME here...") until the physical body dies and the 'organized information' you have identified with as being YOU, disarranges and the spiritual mind becomes conscious again from the hypnotic sleep being over - What spiritual knowledge and spiritual experiences are you going to draw upon?
It was just physical knowledge, physical information in a physical brain that ceased to exist by reason of the fact that YOU stepped into the spirit world - a spiritual pauper. Therefore it seems that we should become less identified with the physical human being, and become more identified with the spirit being we are. ("not to leave the other undone"}
We have become so identified with the 'persona', which has been created in the soul, that we want to take that "insert YOUR NAME here" with us whether in the body or out of the body - it's stuck to us like super glue. People say they are going within, but they are just thinking the whole time, or they are spacing out, daydreaming, fantasizing or falling asleep . . . busy with the distractions of the SOUL - and that's why you can't receive revelations.
You have the brain and physical senses of the human body: you have the 'sense memories' of past experiences stored in the soul: and there are the senses and mind of your spirit body: Body - Soul - Spirit.
The physical senses give you information about the physical world before you; and your soul sense memories help you to navigate in this physical world; whereas the spirit senses and spirit mind gives us information about the spirit worlds and how to navigate therein. Unfortunately neither religions nor spiritual teachings realize that all 3 (Body - Soul - Spirit) are needed to navigate in this physical world.
The Spirit of God contains all knowledge of the most High: he has set before you the knowledge of Life & Good needed to overcome the Evil & Death of this world. "Submit yourself therefore to God ... purify your heart (soul) ye double minded." (James 4:7-8) The word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit - and is the discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart (soul)." (Hebrews 4:12)
We have accepted and allowed many deceptions into our belief system, without consulting the Word of God. We have been walking with the devil, believing we are walking with God; we have built our life upon the ever shifting sands of deception.
You cannot trust your 'feelings'. You cannot let your feelings run your life; your feelings are like the wind, they come from where? and go where? - blowing stronger some days than others. Running one's life on feelings would be like sailing a ship without a rudder; we are blown wherever the wind (our feelings) take us.
Jesus was not talking about earthly things, but about heavenly, about spiritual things. Spiritual is not natural, its not normal to this world consciousness. You cannot understand with human wisdom; you cannot use the human intellect to understand something that is not human. You need to separate your "self" from the human mind and operate from the spirit mind; realize that God is a SPIRIT, teaching spiritual things, that we are too carnal to understand let alone want to know.
There is a great evil among us and that evil is called "deception". Resist the devil, reject the lies and deceptions, stop chasing after earthly pleasures that won't last, but chase after those spiritual treasures you can take with you through the portal of death. The devil wants you to waste your time on earthly pursuits, instead of seeking God and Life. Repent! The earthly pleasures that sin & death offer are nothing compared to LIFE in heaven.
It's time to stop following dead religions and spiritual teachings. It's time to stop being idle and inactive in the teachings of Jesus and get educated in the ways of God . . . to stop the devils and the demons from continuing to entice you into unrighteousness, tempting you into doing things that you know 'willfully' are wrong.
God is waiting to reveal his spiritual teachings to you, to open your spiritual eyes, to release his Spirit's gift of revelation that you will be able to see what is going on in the spirit worlds, with your spirit senses and the righteousness of your spirit mind. "DESIRE that ye might be filled with the knowledge of God's will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding." (Colosians 1:9)
Will we continue to follow after man's selfish wants, or will we follow the way to Life that Jesus has shown us and leave behind Satan's world of death, decay and destruction: "the Wicked shall be revealed; the workings of Satan with all power and lying wonders, with all deceivableness of unrighteousness." (2Thes 2:8-10)
